Seven properties set in a secluded valley at Hebden near Grassington in the Yorkshire Dales National Park
Jerry & Ben's consists of seven self-contained furnished properties sited on a privately owned estate in Hebden Ghyll. With its rocky crags, woodland and picturesque waterfalls, this upland valley forms one of the most attractive and yet unspoilt parts of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is 1.5 miles from Grassington, 10 miles from Skipton and close to such famous features as Malham Cove, Bolton Abbey and Stump Cross Caverns. The buildings stand in two acres of grounds which slope down to a mountain beck suitable for paddling and fishing. A tarmac road provides access but is not a through route and there is no danger to children from traffic. The properties derive their overall name from William Riley's novel 'Jerry and Ben'. This is largely set in the 17th century Mamie's Cottage, Mamie being one of the principal characters in the book.
The history of these cottages, their residents, and the Holebottom hamlet is described in a book 'Uphill to Paradise' by David Joy, available from the address above at £7.50 including post and package. For
more information and to book Jerry and Ben's Holiday Cottages, please use
