Merchant's House must be one of Fowey's premier holiday properties with the longest water frontage. It is situated in an outstanding harbourside location with access to the water.

Every room enjoys splendid views of Fowey's handsome, every changing harbour and marine activities. On sunny days the sun rises on the face of the house and from mid morning on the "sun deck" with its furniture for outdoor dining.  The sitting room is entered through a hallway adjacent to which is a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.  The sitting room has a television and video.  A major feature of the house are the double doors leading onto a balcony with magnificent views of the river and sea beyond.

The kitchen is well equipped including microwave, fan oven and dishwasher.  Upstairs are four attractive bedrooms all with river views.  On the first floor are three bedrooms one twin beds and two with a double bed, one with bathroom ensuite.  There is a separate WC with wash basin and a separate shower.  Access to the "deck" is via one of the bedrooms - approximately 13' x 18' of private sitting out area.  On the top floor approached by a very steep flight of stairs is another twin bedded room with bathroom ensuite.

The water or sands at low tide can be reached through the boat shed off the utility area, down a companion ladder.  There is a marked private space for parking of one car.  All beds have blankets.  Please bring your own linen and towels.  Electricity is via a £1 coin meter and the Night Storage Heaters are via a £1 coin meter too.  All shops, restaurants, cafes and inns of this charming town are close at hand.

Linen is for hire at £12 per room.

Due to the unique location of this property it gets booked up very quickly so early booking, even up to 12 months ahead is recommended.
We regret that Fowey is not dog friendly.

The property is set in a private, elevated position and has recently been beautifully restored to a high standard.  Lancrow Barn has been designed "upside down" to make use of what must be some of the best panoramic, uninterrupted views in Cornwall, of the surrounding countryside and sea beyond. From the first floor windows St Austell Bay can be seen in the distance.

The rear garden is secluded, partially paved with a patio and barbeque area.

The property is entered through the front partially glazed door into the hall way where the original grain chute forms a feature by the stair case which leads to the first floor.  Upstairs the cream and pine Shaker style kitchen/diner is well equipped with a fan oven, microwave, washing machine and fridge freezer.  There is a pine dresser and pine farmhouse table and chairs.  The kitchen door leads out onto the back garden.

The sitting room is tastefully furnished and to the front elevation there are double doors which open inwards with a railing so that the wonderful views from the upstairs can be savoured.  There are also double doors leading onto the patio and rear garden.  This provides a wonderful suntrap, ieal for barbeques (the house is equipped with its own barbeque and garden furniture for outdoor dining).  The sitting room has a remote control tv.

Downstairs there are three bedrooms:  master bedroom with double bed and ensuite bathroom.  One double bedroom with ensuite shower room and a third bedroom with twin beds and ensuite shower room.
All beds have duvets:  linen and electricity are included in the price.
Lancrow Barn is a very special property surrounded by 30 acres of grassland where horses graze in the fields.  Visitors horses are welcome on a DIY livery basis.  Close to the property is a wonderful historic valley ideal for walking or off road riding.
